![]() Thermal putty is applied because it feels uneven spaces a lot better. The problem here is that when we eventually have to replace thermal paste, you HAVE to use thermal putty for RAM, SSD and MOSFETs, since thermal pads, even of you measure the space between, may be inadequate. It seems to be only for industrial applications or repair shops. What matter about this is that thermal putty isn’t actually something the general consumer can buy.
